Max Lesch was a Research Fellow in the Max-Planck-Research Group “Shades of Illegality” and at MPIL from November 2018 to August 2019. He is a political scientist focusing on international relations theory, international law, norms and organisations. In the research group, Max Lesch co-led the qualitative research project “Mapping state practice” on contestations of peace and security law between 1945–2003. In August 2019, he completed his PhD dissertation, which analyses the development of the torture prohibition in and through dynamics of deviance.
Since September 2019, Max Lesch is a PostDoc with the Chair of International Relations at Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen.
